Pointless

Having kids reminds you that things are supposed to have a point. You can't even ask them to sit down, or be quiet, or leave their brother alone, without them asking why? The same goes with picking things up, going to the toilet, and stopping walking along the guttering of the roof. The question comes almost before you've finished, but why?

However it is a really good question to be asking (in most cases)! I mean what happens to people as they get older? Some seem to have lost any and all sight of why they're even getting up in the morning! What is the point of their job? Their hobbies? Their life (not life, but your life)?

Do you ever stop and ask why? Maybe this annoying (and sometimes amusing) characteristic of my kids (and most I know) is actually a natural instinct to establish meaning to the routine of life.
