When I was a kid ...

I didn't like it when I had to go and stay with my grandparents. It isn't
that I didn't like them, or there place, or their cooking, or anything it
was just I preferred to be at home ... With my Mum & Dad. My kids?


My kids would move in with my parents if we let them (actually we would let
them, Mum & Dad won't have them permanently)! Why is this? Is it my kids
are different from me? Or is it I have a different relationship with my
parents than they had with theirs?

Maybe it is that my parents see their role differently to the way my
grandparents saw their role? My grandparents saw their role as assisting to
bring us up right. My parents (while they care deeply about our kids being
raised well) see their role as far more fun. Long live the role of fun
grandparents!
