So over the weekend B1 (aged almost 8) was involved in a sports tournament on Sunday. We decided to let him play for several reasons. However my question (which I think will be asked gradually over a couple of posts) is this something a dynamic disciple would do?
It would seem to me that the general feeling is that it is OK for this happen from time to time BUT on Sunday we should be in Church (perhaps I'm reading the general feeling wrong but that is how I see it). This confuses me somewhat as I'm not sure Church as we know it (again a sweeping generalisation) doesn't automatically lead to dynamic followers of Jesus.
So the decision wasn't easy, but I will explain my rationale over the next post or 2.
