What is valuable?

Let me preface this by saying it isn't a dig at any specific religious organisation! It really is more of a dig at Christians and the manner in which we let ourselves become side tracked and distracted by the pursuit of worldly substance which makes no difference to eternity.

As a generalisation we (the royal we of Christians and the church) seem to be capable of only of hoarding that which the world perceives as valuable. We're not good at grabbing and holding on to people. Yes there are exceptions but it would seem to me that in most cases we can only hold onto a handful and only when their theology and thought process is largely a complete match with our own.

If we're going to hoard anything let it be the things which God values. Let us love recklessly and without the need for this love to be validated by someone responding to the gospel of Christ. Let our love (and our lives) be unconditional and unlimited.
